Happy Mindful Monday! šŸ”ļø Have you ever heard of 'negative capacity'? It's about being comfortable in the unknowns — the empty spaces. I used to need to know how far, how high, how long. Now I'm learning to trust my intuition and just go. Plan AND surrender. What does that look like for you? Experience life fully and share it authentically!

Hello and happy mindful Monday out here on another adventure and it's a pretty big uphill adventure that I'm lucky enough that Dan plans most for most of our things and the Lasalas are back there. Um yeah I used to need to know everything. I wanted to know how far, I wanted to know what the elevation was, I wanted to know so that I could plan because I wasn't totally sure of my body and my capacity. So on the way to this adventure I was listening to Brene Brown's new book Strong Ground and she introduced a term called negative capacity which I'd never heard before and it's the idea it's not that you're staying away from negativity but I think it's more like those negative spaces those spaces that are kind of empty spaces and being okay in those unknowns and it's been something I've been leaning into over the past year as I've tested my abilities both physically and mentally and now I know that there's a term for it and I think that's so cool. So I'm leaning into it even more. I'm trying, I stopped wearing a watch to know how far I've gone, how much time has gone by and just really living in that negative capacity space of being okay in the unknowns and I think it's starting to translate to everyday so you know what does it look like in my everyday life not just was I'm out here pushing my body but trusting myself, trusting my intuition to not have a full story created before I jump into something. So that is my long Mindful Monday thought for you. Would love to hear your thoughts on the idea of negative capacity and just share my view with you again. The Palisade is right there and then parts of the Trident you can see as well and we're heading to the top of this. Happy week, experience life fully and share it authentically. Okay, Mindful Monday Part 2. Obviously, this is probably gonna be about a 14 mile adventure and about 3,500 vertical feet and I did plan for it, right? I have the food, the water I need, the clothes that I need, so on so forth. So what is the balance between preparing and planning and then living in that negative space or that that unknown and just going with it? I think there's probably really cool balance there of like, yes, plan, prepare, set yourself up for success and then do the thing without the stories. So, can't wait to hear your thoughts on this negative capacity. So, happy Monday!
